Local Mother Turns Common Dilemma Into Online Enterprise

Umatilla’s Ashley Wheeler turned a common dilemma facing many growing families into a business. Ashley’s blended family consists of eight kids – and she turned to Poshmark to make money off of decluttering their clothes. Her online profile got a boost on Nov. 27 when Poshmark featured her on an electronic billboard in Times Square to highlight “Second-Hand Sunday,” Poshmark’s first-ever day dedicated to supporting secondhand sellers.

Ali Dieguez graduated from San Diego State University in May 2022 with a degree in kinesiology. During her time in college, she launched her successful resale business. She spent the weekends thrifting and photographing the items. After graduating, Dieguez started a massage therapy program at Pacific College. She now works as a personal trainer, but her main source of income is from reselling clothes.
