Poshmark started out as an iPhone app on Apple Inc.’s App Store, but a full desktop, iPad and Android apps are coming soon. Chandra got the idea for Poshmark after seeing shopping bags full of clothes his wife was not wearing in the closet. Poshmark was founded in 2011 and raised $3.5 million in venture funding led by the Mayfield Fund.

Poshmark Hosts Sobe Party

Poshmark is coming to South Beach for the first time ever to host a big shopping soiree on Thursday, September 27. The site is known for having one of the biggest communities of fashion enthusiasts in the nation who sell clothing and accessories and sometimes even swap wardrobes. The event themed Girl’s Night Out takes place at Shore Club’s Sandbar from 6 to 9PM and is opened to the public.

Poshmark attempting to revolutionize retail with mobile-first approach

Poshmark, a Menlo Park, Calif.-based startup, is also taking advantage of going mobile-first with its e-commerce and fashion app, drawing consumers farther away from their PC browsers to sell and shop on smartphones from anywhere while on-the-go. After sampling the app for short while, it looks like Poshmark took the best of some of the leading online and mobile retailers and integrated them all into one platform.
